How Can I Copy and Paste Tables from Word to Project or Library Entries?

You can copy and paste tables directly from Word to Loopio Project or Library Entries.

In your Word Document:

  1. Highlight the table that you want to copy
  2. Right-click on the highlighted table
  3. Click Copy

In Your Project / Library Entry:

  1. Place your cursor in the location where you’d like to paste your table
  2. On your keyboard, press Control + V (PC) or Command ⌘ + V (Mac) to paste
  3. The table will appear in the space where you placed your cursor
  4. The table will appear unformatted in the Project / Library Entry box

Formatting Tables in Loopio

If you want to format the table, adjust the Table format settings in Content Style under Admin.

 

Permissions Required: General Administration, Level 1 (Manager) or higher required to access and edit Content Style.

 

Note: Changes to the table format settings will be applied to all tables in your Project and in your Library.

  1. Click on the Admin tab
  2. Click on Content Style
  3. Scroll down to the Table Design box
  4. You can change the Font Color, Header Background Color, and Header Font Color by putting in the Hex Code of the colors or by clicking the color swatch beside the text box. You can also select different Cell Spacing for your table
 

Tip: Loopio's table editor accepts two formats for color: Hexcodes and RGB. Colors must be typed in these exact formats in order to be accepted by Loopio.

  • Hexcodes: #000000
  • RGB: rgb(242, 242, 242)

Note: rgb (3 numbers) is supported, rgba (4 numbers) is not currently supported.

Preventing Table Bleed Out in Word Exports

Tables may bleed out when exporting to a Word document due to the size of the table.

To prevent the table from bleeding out in the exported Word document:

  1. Right-click on the Table
  2. Select Table Properties
  3. Check that the Width in the Table Properties modal is set at 100%. If not, type in a percentage that is less than or equal to 100%

How Can I Edit the Properties of My Tables in Loopio?

You can edit your table properties directly in Loopio.

To edit Table Properties:

  1. Right-click on the table you want to edit
  2. Select Table Properties
  3. A Table Properties prompt will show on your screen
  4. On the prompt, you can choose which areas of the table are headers, the table width, border size, cell spacing, and table alignment. You can also add a table caption or summary
 

Tip: We highly recommend keeping the Width of the table at 100% or less to prevent the table from bleeding out in the Word export document. If it is not set at 100%, you can click on Width and change the Width percentage less than or equal to 100%

To Add/Delete Rows or Columns

  1. Right-click on the table you want to edit
  2. Hover over Row or Column in the menu
  3. You can either insert or delete rows/columns in the table

To Edit Cells and Cell Properties

Editing Cell Properties will format a single cell. You can also highlight multiple cells in a row.

  1. Right-click on a single cell or highlight the full row or column of cells
  2. Hover over Cells
  3. You can choose to insert cells, delete, merge, or split cells
  4. You can also select Cell Properties to view further options
  5. Click on Cell Properties
  6. A Cell Properties prompt will show
  7. You can change the width or height of the cell, put in Hex Codes to change the Background or Border Color, manually set a cell to be a Header, as well as vertical and horizontal alignment

How Do I Fill Table Cells with a Color?

After you create a table, you can further format the background color of each cell directly in the Answer field.

To fill a background color into your Table cells:

  1. Create a table by clicking the Table icon

  2. Choose the number of rows and columns for your table
  3. After your table has been created, select Cell, and then Cell Properties

  5. Click Save
