Yes, you are able to map Custom Project Fields with MS Dynamics Fields. Loopio Custom Project Fields can be auto-filled by matching fields in your connected MS Dynamics Opportunity when you create a new Loopio Project.

Benefits of Mapping Custom Project Fields to MS Dynamics Fields
By mapping Custom Project Fields to MS Dynamics fields, you can pass along details of an MS Dynamics opportunity to Loopio so that users who don’t have access to MS Dynamics have the relevant context when working on linked Projects in Loopio.
Note: This is a one-way sync from MS Dynamics to Loopio that will update the field status in Loopio Projects.
How to Map Custom Project Fields to MS Dynamics Fields
- Click Admin in the top navigation
- Click Custom Project Fields
- Click + Add new Custom Project Field

Enter a Custom Field Name, and select Dynamics Input
Note: Note these character limits for Custom Project Fields:
- Custom Field Name: 40 Characters
- Custom Field Instructions: 40 Characters
- Custom Field Response: 100 Characters

Select the MS Dynamics Field that you want to map to this custom field.
Tip: The MS Dynamics Opportunity fields will only auto-populate when the Loopio Project is created from an MS Dynamics Opportunity.
- Click the checkmark to save your Custom Project Field
MS Dynamics Opportunity fields value will be auto-synced to the Loopio projects every ~10 minutes.
Will These Fields Update In Loopio?
Note: Edits to Custom Project Fields in MS Dynamics may take up to 10 minutes to be reflected in the Loopio Project.
- Click Projects in the top navigation
- Select Project List
- Select your Project from the Project List
- Go to the Project Details panel on the left and select the Dynamics icon
- You will see the updated data
Mapping Project Input Fields to MS Dynamics Fields
Part 1: Create the Custom Project Field in Loopio
- Click Admin in the top navigation
- Select Custom Project Fields
- Click + Add new Custom Project Field
- Enter the required details for the new field:
- Field Name: (e.g., Test Currency)
- Information Source: Select Project Input
- Field Type: Select the data type (e.g., Short Text)
- Instructions: Provide any user instructions
- Click the checkmark icon to save the new field
Part 2: Create the Corresponding Column in Power Apps
Step 1: Create a New Solution Or add in existing Solution
- Navigate to the Power Apps maker portal
- In the Solutions area, click + New solution
- Fill in the solution details (Display name, Name, Publisher, Version)
- Click Create
Step 2: Add the Existing Projects Table to the Solution
- Once inside the new solution, click Add existing in the top menu
- From the dropdown, select Table
Step 3: Select the Projects Table
- In the Add existing tables window, search for the relevant table (e.g., Search for Loopio and find Loopio Projects)
- Select the Loopio Projects table
- Click Next
Step 4: Exclude All Objects and Add
- On the Selected tables screen, ensure the Loopio Projects table is listed
- Uncheck the Include all objects checkbox
- Click Add to bring the table into your custom solution
Step 5: Navigate to Columns
- In your solution, open the Loopio Projects table
- Under the Schema section, click Columns
Step 6: Create the New Column
- Click + New column in the top menu of the Columns view
- In the New column panel, configure the column to match the field created in Part 1:
- Display name: (e.g., Test Currency)
- Data type: Select the appropriate type (e.g., Single line of text).
- Configure other necessary options (Format, Required, etc.).
- Click Save
Important: Field name must exactly match the Display name for syncing between Loopio and MS Dynamics to work.
Step 7: Access Forms for UI Integration
- After creating the column, navigate back to the Loopio Projects table overview
- Under the Data experiences section, click Forms
Step 8: Add an existing Loopio Projects form
- Click Add existing form
- Select Loopio Projects (Main) from the list
- Click Add
Step 9: Add fields to the displayed form
- Drag and drop the field you created earlier into the form
- Click Save and publish
After publishing, the new field appears in the Project Creation Form. The value entered will display in the Loopio field above
When working on staging, export the solution as a managed package and import it into production to transfer all custom project input fields created in staging.
