Loopio provides your team with the flexibility to empower your Project Admins & Collaborators to jump into any questions within a specific Section by enabling Open Collaboration.
Open Collaboration can be enabled on a per-section basis, allowing your team to work on questions in open sections without the need to make specific assignments – this can empower your team to work even more collaboratively on answers without feeling bottlenecked.
Within Open Collaboration sections, your project participants can also assign or reassign questions to engage other team members across your organization.
What Does the Open Collaboration Setting Enable?
When Open Collaboration is enabled for a Project, Project Collaborators and Project Admins will be able to:
- jump into any question within this section to work collaboratively as a team and drive your Projects towards the finish line
- assign or reassign questions to different users within Loopio, empowering more people on your team to pull in the right expertise to craft winning responses
How Do I Enable Open Collaboration while creating a Project?
- In the Project Details tab, click Enable Open Collaboration for this Project. This will enable it for the entire Project.
- Any Project Participants with either Project Collaborator or Project Admin permissions will now have the ability to assign, re-assign, and answer any Entries.
How Do I Enable Open Collaboration for Specific Project Sections?
- In the Project Details panel on the left, click the Project Outline icon
- Click the gear icon beside Enable Open Collaboration
- Use the checkboxes to select the Sections where you want to enable Open Collaboration
- Click Open X Section(s) to save your selections
After saving your selections, you will see an icon indicating which Sections have Open Collaboration enabled.
Project Participants with either Project Collaborator or Project Admin permissions will now be able to jump into any question in the open Section to respond to, assign, or reassign the question.
How Do I Enable Open Collaboration for Specific Users?
Project Administrators also have the ability to select specific Participants for Open Collaboration. To select which Project Participants or Teams can openly collaborate on a Project section:
1. In the Project Details panel on the left, click the Project Outline icon
2. Click the gear icon beside Enable Open Collaboration
3. Use the checkboxes to select the Sections where you want to enable Open Collaboration
4. Click Share
5. Choose the specific Project Participants or Teams you want to work on that section, and click Save
Choosing specific collaborators limits the number of participants so there is more focus and delegation over who should be working on the Project sections rather than leaving it open to too many collaborators.
If a Project Administrator does not use the Share feature to select specific individual Participants or Teams, then any Collaborators and/or Administrators are able to openly collaborate. All Project Administrators and the Project Owner will continue to be able to collaborate on all Project sections.
Note: All Project Administrators will be able to openly collaborate by default regardless of it they are checked or unchecked. If a User is part of a Team and also a Project Participant in the same Project, their ability to openly collaborate will fall with their highest permission level between the two roles.
How Do I Disable Open Collaboration?
- In the Project Details panel on the left, click the Project Outline icon
- Click the gear icon beside Enable Open Collaboration
- Use the checkboxes to deselect the Sections where you want to disable Open Collaboration
- Click Open X Section(s) to save your selections - this number indicates the number of Sections where Open Collaboration will remain enabled
Note: If all Sections have been deselected, the button will be labeled Save instead.
