Yes, Loopio scans files uploaded from any location (i.e.: My Device, Google Drive, SharePoint, Dropbox, Box or OneDrive) for malware or viruses.
When you upload any file into Loopio, including documents, images, and other attachments, you will see a pop-up showing that your file is being scanned for any malicious content:
If there is no malicious content found in the file, the file will be uploaded to the platform as expected.
What If a File Is Unsafe or Infected?
If a file is identified as unsafe or infected, it will not be uploaded into the platform and you will see the message "We are unable to upload this file. Suspicious content was detected that could contain a virus or malware":
What If I Am Uploading a Password-Protected File?
If you are trying to upload or download a file that is password protected, you will be required to confirm that you want to upload the password protected file. The malware and virus scanning can not be performed on a password-protected file, so you will need to make a decision on whether you want to upload the file to the platform.
What Should I Do If My File Can’t Be Uploaded?
If you receive the notification that Loopio is unable to upload your file due to a virus or malware being detected, we recommend you take the following actions:
- Confirm with your IT team whether there are any viruses or malware contained within your file
- Run an antivirus software against the file to validate whether there is suspicious content found. For example, this is possible on Windows by performing the following steps:
- Navigate to the file in File Explorer
- Right-click the file, then select Scan with Microsoft Defender
- For Source Documents, contact the issuer or sender of the document to ensure that you are using the correct file and to validate the file contents on their side
If none of the steps above resolve the issue and the file is believed to be a false positive, please reach out to our Support Team so that we can investigate further.
