What are Business Units?
With Business Units in Loopio, you can:
- Separate Projects, Library Entries, and Users between geographies or product lines, ensuring content is securely accessed only by the right Users
- Share common content, and seamlessly collaborate by inviting users across Business Units to participate in Projects
- Add Administrators and assign Users to one or more Business Units
Creating a Business Unit
- Click Admin in your top navigation bar
- Select Business Units
- Click + Create Business Unit
- Fill out the Business Unit Name and select a Business Unit Administrator
Note: The Business Unit Administrator must have a standard license
- Select the permission for the Business Unit Administrator
- Match User's Role: No additional permission for the business unit

Manage All within Business Unit: Elevates the users permission to Business Unit Admin for Projects or Stacks
Note: Assign "Manage all within Business Unit" if the Admin is to manage the Business Unit.
- Click Create to complete the creation of the Business Unit
Assign Users to the Business Unit
Option 1: Assign Users to the Business Unit in Bulk
- Go to the User list page and select the users you want to add to a business unit
- Click X Selected
- Select Business Unit Access
- Select the Business Unit to add the Users to - you may select multiple Business Units
- Click Apply
- The assigned Business Units will be listed in the User page under the column Business Unit
Option 2: Assign an Individual User to the Business Unit
- Go to the Users page
- Click on the name of the user who you want to add to the Business Unit
- In the Edit User screen, add or remove selections from the Business Units field
- Click update to save the changes
Creating Projects and Project Templates
There will be a field for Business Unit selection, where you can choose where the Project or Project Template will be created
Note: The field will only be visible if the user is participating in multiple Business Units. If the user is participating in only one Business Unit, the field will not be present.
Define Library Stacks for Organization-wide vs Business Unit Specific
Both the Organization-wide stacks and Business Unit Stacks can be found in the Library Management page.

Organization-Wide Stacks
The content within this Stack is visible to all Users if the User's role grants them permission.
To create an Organization-wide stack, click + Add Stack and select the Organization-wide option.
Business Unit Stacks
The content within this Stack will only be visible to members within the Business Unit, if the User's role grants them permission.
To create a Business Unit Stack, click + Add Stack and select the desired Business Unit.
