A Business Unit (BU) is a structural component within Loopio designed to support Enterprise organizations by segmenting data into distinct areas within the same instance. Each Business Unit operates independently, with its own Users, roles, permissions, and content, while still allowing cross-unit collaboration where needed.
Benefits of Business Units
Data Segmentation
Each Business Unit can manage its own Users, Projects, and content, allowing different divisions or groups within your organization to work independently while sharing a common platform.
Granular Role Assignment
Users can be assigned different roles within one or more Business Units, allowing for flexible permissions management across your organization.
Content Ownership
Projects, Library Stacks, and Project Templates are owned by a specific Business Unit, ensuring content is separated and accessible only to Users with the appropriate permissions.
Cross-Business Unit Collaboration
While Business Units are independent, Users from different Business Units can collaborate on shared Projects or content if permissions are granted.
Enhanced Security
The Business Unit structure supports granular access control by isolating data and operations, helping Enterprise organizations meet their security and compliance requirements.
What You Can Do with Business Units
With Business Units in Loopio, you can:
- Separate Projects, Library Entries, and Users between geographies or product lines, ensuring content is securely accessed only by the right Users
- Share common content, and seamlessly collaborate by inviting Users across Business Units to participate in Projects
- Add Administrators and assign Users to one or more Business Units
